Gaile raged? LOL! I wish I saw it. If you meant the occasional(and I mean a small but memorable occasion) snarky comment, then yea.

Hmm...... I think you all need to consider a few things here. One.... Guild Wars is not a pay to play game, so you honestly don't think they care ? They are providing a service and I'd like you to compare that to some of the other companies who charge a fee to play. With no money coming in from game fees I'd say they care about how people feel about the game. They will make nothing if you the customer don't feel like you're being taken care of, they have nothing to fall back on except the initial sale. So I don't see how anyone can say they don't care, it's a pretty lame argument.
However what I see mostly here many times is people simply crying over something they don't like or some game change they hate and then just start raging about things. Do you honestly think if you're job was to check on the gaming community and get feed back that you would even reply to the threads where you were flamed and the thread looked like a flame fest for 13 year olds or a QQ session about " How I hate Anet " ?
They do a fantastic job in my opinion and the only thing I could hold against them would be the fact that their hands are tied by NCsoft who unfortunately is the bigger dog in this pen and leads the pack. In my years of gaming I have not seen a company give back more and support it's fans any better then what Anet does now, in fact they have been the best at it. How many games that are not pay to play would receive attention like we get after almost 5 years after its release ?
Use your heads people..... The community relations manager do their job very well in my opinion and they are bond by what their supervisors and company tell them what they can or can not do.

I think Regina sometimes comes across badly through no fault of her own. Some people (myself included) have a way of saying things that doesn't translate particularly well to dry text. We can land up sounding like arrogant asshats, when we don't mean to sound like that. This can also be made worse when they aren't a native English speaker.
Regina's job is to pass on information to us when ArenaNet want us to have it and filter our feedback and pass it on to the dev team. Regina is NOT responsible for the myriad of perceived (by me too) failures on ANets part, she's just the one who has to pass the info on. Don't shoot the messenger.
She's also had a hell of an act to follow in Gaile Gray, which is never easy.

Gaile has always been one of the most beloved women of GW and I think it's because she came to battle for us when no one else would (Especially now that she's the go-to person for support issues), and she made it feel like she genuinely gave a crap about what happened to the game. It was her game too, after all.
Regina has a tough job and honestly, I wouldn't want to deal with the people of Guild wars, but I have to say she lacks a certain charm that Gaile had. Like enter_the_zone said, Regina had a hard act to follow and I know she wasn't greeted with much praise.
Still... all in all?
I miss Gaile.

I like Regina more, tbh. As others have stated, Gaile rarely said anything new. I remember reading chat logs of what Gaile would say hoping for fragments of new knowledge and realizing quickly she almost never said anything new (but she could create a conga line and everyone would go gaga).
Regina makes posts in the forums, and while it is definitely true that she carefully chooses what she does, and doesn't, say she does generally offer more useful of insight when she does post.
Regina isn't amazing, but I prefer her to Gaile (although I don't honestly expect amazing interaction).

I like Regina.
Sure, I would like a bit more idle chatter, it allows us to get to know a person more, and makes it seem like they care more about the game and the people then just a job, however, Regina does answer the questions, and she does try and get us the information as soon as she can, and I can respect that.

You know WHY it seems Regina isn't doing as much? The shitty 'official wiki'. For some reason, the ANet staff feel that wiki discussion pages are suitable methods of communication - when clearly they aren't. The ONLY reason Gaile seemed to be more active on forums, was because there was no wiki for her to post on.
Now there is, so go find some new Gaile posts. Oh wait, there are none, they're ALL on the wiki. Same as Regina.

you make me want to start a "I miss the old wiki" thread (Yes I preferred the old one that seemed to have more useful hints and tips than the sanitized official one).
I think when Gaile moved on, that the job description of the CRM probably got revised too. I've come to respect Regina for posting on here when needed (it seems more proactive lately) along with Martin.
I also miss the interaction of Gaile who appeared more involved with the community and her own style of hinting at things through the use of the frog etc, rather than just making announcements when required.
Remember, when Gaile was there, more stuff was new to the community (first time festivals etc) so there was more to be able to hint and tantalize with than there is today.
Both did/do their hard job well.

They dont feel its better. They can control the communication better. It's all about power and perception.

I never had the opportunity to know Gaile Gray or Regina Buenaobra so well as to start a thread comparing them , but until then, Gaile Gray doesn't have a google picture nicer than this one.

Gaile was fluff, Regina is substance. Substance is good but I like a bit of fluff every now and then. The feelgood factor is important IMO.
